At Lawley Village Academy, Safeguarding is at the forefront of everything we do. We believe that it is not only one persons responsibility but it is the responsibility of everyone in our school community. Our main intention is to ensure the safety of all within school. There are clear roles and responsibilities in place for this to happen.

Our designated safeguarding leads are:

Mrs Laura Hopley - Headteacher

Miss Claire Freestone - Deputy Headteacher

Miss Charlotte Bugler - Year 6 teacher and KS2 lead.

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child you will need to contact family connect on 01952 385385 and speak to a Family Connect Safeguarding Advisor. These advisors are available between 9am - 5pm mon to fri (excluding bank holidays)

Outside of these hours you will need to contact the Emergency duty team on 01962 676500. If you believe a criminal offence has been committed you can contact West Mercia Police on 0300 333 3000 or 101. In an emergency always dial 999.

Mobile Phones

Whilst we would prefer parents not to use their mobile phones while at school, we recognise that this would be impossible to regulate and that many parents see their phones as an essential means of communication at all times. We therefore ask that parents’ usage of mobile phones whilst on the school site is courteous and appropriate to the school environment. We enjoy inviting our parents and carers into school to take part in events such as workshops, parent lunches and class visits but please can we remind you that we take safeguarding very seriously and the use of mobiles and the taking of photographs during these times is strictly forbidden.

We allow parents to photograph or video school events such as shows or sports day using their mobile phones – but insist that parents do not publish images(e.g. on social networking sites) that include any children other than their own.

Anyone who is found using a mobile phone or taking photographs in a way that contravenes this policy may have their parental license to enter school revoked.
