Year 3 - Willow Class
Class Teacher and Teaching Assistant
Our class teacher is called Miss Tanner and our teaching assistants are Miss Palmer and Mrs Bates.
What do you need to know?
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Children should wear full PE kits to school on these days.
Children are encouraged to read at least 5 times a week, with each read recorded in their reading diaries. Children should bring their books and diaries to school everyday. Reading books will be changed from our class library on a Wednesday.
Homework tasks will be set weekly on a Wednesday, to be handed in by the following Wednesday.
What are we learning this half term?
In Willow class this term, our topic is Emperors and Empires. Your child will learn about the growth and decline of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire. They will discover the absolute power of the Roman emperors and study the hierarchies of Roman society and the Roman army. They will study the first invasions of Britain in 55 and 54 BC and the Roman conquest of Britain in AD 43. They will learn about Boudicca’s rebellion, Hadrian’s Wall and the Romanisation of Britain, including how Christianity came to Britain and investigate the legacy of Roman Britain in their local area.
