Nursery
Our Provision
Lawley Village Nursery is part of Lawley Village Academy and will be opened in September 2024. Our provision caters for children of pre-school age children (aged 3-4) and we take children into our nursery, during the term following their 3rd birthday.
We have the expertise of a Early years lead and Early years teacher who plan our pre-school curriculum through the foundation stage and early learning goals. Our early years teacher runs the nursery in both the morning and afternoon sessions. Strong links have been made between our Early Years curriculum and our KS1 curriculum and beyond. The Early Years is such a key point in a children's life and is the foundation that all their learning will be built on.
Learning at Lawley Village Academy Nursery
Just like Reception and KS1, we follow half termly topics to engage the children in the world. Children are engaged in these topics in a variety of ways, including learning through play, adults modelling, guided learning and direct teaching. Our early years team carefully organise enabling environments for each of the 7 areas of learning, both inside and outside and then staff support and extend the children learning in these areas.
Key moments in the children's learning is captured in the online learning journey, Tapestry. Parents will be able to view these observation and will be able to add observations to their learning journey. More information about Tapestry will be communicated through a parent workshop, when your child starts nursery.
