We are looking for three enthusiastic and hardworking apprentices to join our friendly school.

Business Admin Apprentice.  You will be based in our busy school office and learn the role of a School Administration Assistant under the direction of the SBM and School Administrator. Good communication skills and a positive approach to learning are essential as you will be first point of contact by telephone and in person for parents, carers, staff and visitors.  You will receive training on our school systems including our cash collection, finance and management information systems.

Early Years Practitioner Apprentice.  You will be based in the Early years classroom under the direction of the class teacher whilst working towards your level 2 EYP qualification.

Teaching Assistant Apprentice.  You will be based in the classroom and be joining our dynamic team of committed Teaching Assistants to assist in promoting the learning and personal development of pupils whilst working towards your level 3 teaching and learning qualification.  You will also be a part of the wrap around care team, contributing to planning and supervising activities in our after school club

Extended Schools Deputy Manager required for Lawley Village Primary Academy

Post: Deputy Manager for Treetops, our Wrap around childcare provision 

Hours: Monday to Friday 2.45 – 6.00pm, Term time only. 3.25 hours per day – 16.25 hours per week

Salary:  Scale 3 (New NJC SCP 5-6) FTE £19,312-£19,698 (£10.01-£10.21 PH)

About the role:

We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Deputy Manager of our busy after school club.  Treetops was established in 2019 and this is a great opportunity for someone to use their skills and experience to develop and enhance the provision as it grows.  The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification and the position will be subject to an enhanced DBS with barred list check and satisfactory references. Purpose of the role:

To support the manager in the the overall co-ordination and running of the Extended Schools initiative – Lawley Treetops, and deputise in their absence. ( after school)

Responsibilities & Tasks  -

To assist the extended school manager in the following:

  • To assist the Head/School Business Manager in the management and promotion of the Extended Schools function
  • To ensure a positive and happy environment is maintained in the provision – in line with the wider school policies.
  • To use school behaviour policy and ethos when addressing children in the provision
  • To support the development of the school as a fully extended school
  • Establish good relationships with children – interact positively with children, encouraging co-operation and mutual support. Monitor children’s well-being and readiness for class, provide help and support for children.
  • Establish good relationships with parents.
  • Ensure health & safety of children – maintain a register of children attending, control access to other parts of the school, administer any basic first aid, record all accidents/injuries in the accident book, ensure children understand action to be taken in the event of a fire or other emergency.
  • To care for the creative, educational and development of the children which will include leading, encouraging, participating in suitable activities both inside and outside the school.
  • To ensure a high level of quality in all aspects of provision.
  • Prepares planning and resources for the clubs
  • To ensure the extended schools provision is inclusive and allows access to all
  • Develop partnerships with extended schools providers to enhance and support the extended schools offer
  • To be aware of the child protection and safeguarding procedures and report any concerns immediately to the Deputy head teacher for participate in team meetings and to attend meetings with the head teacher, SLT, parents and others as required
  • To regularly check and monitor the hygiene, equipment and safety of the wrap around care provision.
  • To be responsible for ensuring any special dietary requirements are notified to the breakfast/after school club assistants.
  • To be responsible for the administrative tasks (i.e. child attendance),
  • To pass attendance onto the office for them to ensure payment is made
  • To order materials used for children’s activities
  • Be responsible for own health & safety, as well as that of colleagues, pupils and the public.
  • Duties and responsibilities of the post may change over time as requirements and circumstances change. The person in post may also be required to carry out such other duties consistent with the grade from time to time.


To contribute as an effective and collaborative member of the school team

  • To participate in training to be able to demonstrate competence.
  • To participate in first aid training as required.
  • Participating in the ongoing development, implementation and monitoring of the service plans.
  • Championing the professional integrity of the School Service
  • Supporting Customer Focus, Best Value and electronic management of processes.
  • Actively sharing feedback on School policies and interventions
